Available for Adoption or Rescue on: 5/20/24-This animal is currently in the Shelter Foster Program and will be available on the date providedMost animals at Franklin County Animal Shelter are of unknown origin. Therefore, there are no guarantees to their health or behavior and items such as breed, and age are an estimate. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please feel free to call our office at 919-496-XXXX or email us at XXXX@franklincountync.gov in the case that we may have additional information. Adoptions and Rescues begin at 12pm. Current shelter hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 12pm-4pm and on Wednesday 2pm-6pm. This animal will be available for adoption or rescue on the date posted above. Adoptions and rescues are first come first serve. The fee to adopt a cat/kitten who has not already been spay/neutered is $80 (cash or check). This will include a $50 voucher to use toward spay/neuter of the cat/kitten adopted. These vouchers are accepted by multiple local veterinarians! A government issued photo ID is also required at the time of the adoption. You must be 18 years old to adopt.Adoption processOur adoption process is actually very simple! ADOPTIONS ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! WE DO NOT HOLD ANIMALS FOR ADOPTERS. Our adoption fee is $25. We only accept cash or check. If the animal you adopt is not already spay/neutered at the time of adoption, you will be required to purchase a voucher ($100 for dogs, $50 for cats) that is accepted at multiple local veterinians. Animals that come into Franklin County Animal Shelter are of various backgrounds, most are unknown. Our staff is dedicated to finding homes for the animals in our care. Many of the animals are offered for adoption to the public. Some have issues which prevent us from allowing them to be adopted by the public. We work continuously with 501c3 nonprofit animal rescues who provide the treatment or training these animals need to rehome them. Animals are brought into our facility each and every day so please check the website frequently. If you are local, it would be great for you to come into our shelter to see all of our pets that are here and waiting for their new homes. We try and list them as soon as possible but ther are always new faces to be seen. If local, please stop in and walk thru to see all of our available animals.
